BRIAN LEIGH DAVIS IN 1984

The apartment party on East First Street held on October 19, 1984, had been going on all day. As the day went on, according to nearby residents, it only got louder and more violent. Twenty-four-year-old Brian Davis had gone to the party, as anyone would, to have a good time with friends. He soon found himself confronting another individual who crashed the party at around 8:30 p.m.

Witnesses described the individual Davis confronted as a man with wavy hair and a beard, dressed in dark clothing; he was at least five feet, eight inches tall. The assailant was thought to be between twenty-five and thirty years old. He was seen by at least twenty-five people attending the party.

The confrontation led to a physical altercation between the two inside the confines of the apartment. That fight soon led outside, where the unknown assailant drew a firearm and shot Davis once in the head. The man then fled the scene on a bicycle before police arrived.

Davis was taken to a nearby hospital. He died early the following morning. Investigators were never able to find the bearded man, despite a number of witnesses at the scene, and the investigation has since gone cold.
